I have 5.7GXI-F. It has a 14.25 x 17. It has a good hole shot and tops a approx 4000 rpm. I spun the hub and when asking around I was told I should be running from 4400 to 4900 rpm. Suggested going to 15 x 15. Does this sound right? Prop pushing a 26' tritoon. Dont know the gear ratio. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Are all these props just aluminum 3 blade? The 17 sounds about right for stock. You could drop to the 15 and see how she does. Try to find a marina or somewhere where you can return it if its not quite right. That way you will get what you need and only have to buy one prop.

most pontoons I see have either 15 or 13 pitch props. you may consider a 4 blade 13 pitch..should get you into the mid 4K rpms.
