What Prop would be best Johnson 150

1985 Astroglass 17.5 foot bass boat
Johnson 150 outboard
14.5 24 pitch stainless prop
Boat Weight 1000lbs

Currently with three people (450lbs) and a have a tank of gas WOT 4200 rpm. Im able to reach 45 MPH. My performance WOT should be 4500 to 5500. What pitch would bring me to 5500 rpm and would it decrease the time to get on plane and speed? I was thinking of going aluminum for the cost and trying a 14.5 21. any suggestions.

where is cavitation plate in relation to bottom of transom? might pick up rpms if there is room to raise motor. 21 alluminum might get you to 5100. id look for a 19. dont be afraid to run 5600-5800 with todays ethanol. you are currently killing your motor with such a loww wot rpm. mph will be close to same and hole shot will improve greatly.

I never recommend alu props on V-6 above 17" pitch.
Too much blade flexing, to little bow lift.
In your case i would have tested a Raker 20".
That one equals a 21 SST in load, but better top performance and trim.

Took the boat out today and was able to really try different things with the trim. Big lake there wasnt very many people out. Prior to today I was only able to squeak out 45 mph WOT 4200. This is my first boat really learning alot so played with the trim and was able to achieve WOT 4800 with a max speed of 56 mph. Big difference. Nice Roster Tail. I have ordered another prop that will be here Wednesday 14.5 21P Aluminum can't wait to try this out. I did have some issue I will have to post on another forum though.

Update

Changed to Solaris 14.5 19P WOT 5600 RPM Top Speed 50 MPH with 3 People. Hole shot diffiently Improved (Jumps Up quick) top end reduced 6 MPH.
50MPH with three people and full tank of gas.
Was 56MPH
