I have an 88 stratos 19ft f/s, with an evinrude 150. Im not sure of the current prop size, but ill post it later. I do know i have no jack plate, and wot is 5200 with a top speed of 50 (gps) the hole shot is mean, feels like your gonna rip the transom off, but im thinkin i can get a little more top speed out of it.....what prop would you go with, pitch, size, any particular prop? Thanks in advance guys!!!!

Re: what prop?????

I would say your darn close to what you need right now. I think typical prop would be a 19" or 17" ss.
Other than your results seem typical we can't evaluate your present results without the prop size.

Re: what prop?????

Hey guys, my prop size is 14 1/2 x 19, stamped on the prop, its a stainless steel 3 blade.....your opinions honestly sound good, ill take it...im happy with the hole shot, and top end, just by reading other posts, by people with similar set ups., i thought maybe i could get a little more speed out of it.....but if you say my results are typical. Im happy.....another question, what would i gain with a four blade prop, and/or a jack plate?? And for the record, i dont have a stabilizer fin(whale tail) either.....thanks for your time guys.....

Re: what prop?????

Usually a 4 blade is designed to improve low to mid range performance. hole shot, ability to stay on plane at reduced throttle,
will seem smoother and should handle better around the dock.
Usually will cost some top end speed.
A jackplate makes it easy to fine tune the height A hydraulic plate will allow adjustment as required.
The set back gets the prop in somewhat less disturbed(cleaner) water. They say it allows the motor to be higher but as the
the water flows back it is higher so the motor needs to be higher.
