I would like to keep this ancient seastrainer. The stamping indicates " San Juan Engineering" and I need an o-ring for it. Looking thru the web I am unable to locate any parts. Any ideas?

Your are not dealing with much pressure or vacume, You can make an O ring in 5 minutes. Match it as close as possible at the napa store or ace Hdw. buy 2 if you can not find one long enough and cut them to fit. use a razor blade and do a 45 deg angle then just crazy glue it together. I like to put a bit of glue in a few spots on the seat also then it stays in place when you clean out the filter. ( if you do it right you can stretch the "new" one" to test it. Dont get carried away now. :)

The issue you're going to have is the thickness of the o-ring. Measure the diameter and get the thickness with a micrometer. Then you can find the part on the 'net once you have the dimensions. There are a billion o-rings out there...one has to fit.

When replacing it, use a little clear or white marine lube to keep it supple and help maintain a seal.

Thanks guys. I was hoping to pay an outrageous price for the marine part and shipping costs. Think I will get on my bike and ride to NAPA with a pocket full of change instead. Advice is well taken.
