What should WOT rpm's be on a 5.7 litre vortec engine

Hi Guys My 5.7 litre Vortec engine is now run in and my question is what should WOT rpm's be I haven't tried it yet but want to be sure the engine doesn’t over rev. Your thought's would be greatly appreciated.

Ayuh,... I'd think the ole standard for 350s,... 4400/ 4800 rpms at Wot....

Bondo is prolly right. But define your engine? Who built it? With what stuff? Some are spinning a little faster now.

Its a 5.7 Chev Vortec 330hp HD 4 bolt main, roller cam & lifters
Its a crate engine that came from the US to Australia If that helps

That sounds more like 4600 - 5000, but splitting hairs sort of. Prop for upper 4's and you should be good. You won't hurt it below 5200 for sure, and I would bet the valves wouldn't float below 6000. Not recommending, but some of this is a concern about valve float, and some is a concern about getting max power. My guess is that engine gets max power at 4800. Without even more info from the builder that last number is hard to figure out. The GM engine that they are trying to duplicate is rated at 4800: Product Portfolio

Thank you QC you have been a great help, Im testing out this weekend we will see how it goes at WOT

One more question QC i used the same 4 barrel quadrajet carby, no re jetting was done will that be o.k. for this motor

Why don't you ask the people you bought the engine from what the WOT rpm is supposed to be? Bet it's even in the installation instructions.

Why don't you ask the people you bought the engine from what the WOT rpm is supposed to be? Better than us guessing what it would be.
Bet it's even in the installation instructions that came with the engine.

Stick with the 44 to 48 range, and say exactly what you have in the future. Not what an invoice says that means nothing.

No instalation instructions Don just the warranty.And I have the philosophy of if in doubt ask !

And QC asked who the maufactuere was and I thought that information was suffice
