what size boat for my motor

recently got a free 15hp johnson outboard ,made all needed repairs ,motor runs great 120.00 in parts not to bad,was wondering if a 12 foot boat is to small for this engine ? or should find a 14 foot boat ,thanks again in advance

Most 12' aluminum boats are rated for only 10 hp. Most 14' v-hull aluminum boats are rated for 15hp, so I'd say a nice v-hull aluminum open fishing boat would be ideal for your nice outboard. Any of the Lunds, Alumacrafts, Lowes, Starcrafts, or whatever will work just fine.

Best of all, you should be able to find a nice used one on a trailer for a really reasonable price.

I agree. Look for a 14. My 14' Lowe BigJon is rated for 25HP.
You'll appreciate the extra space, too! :D
