What size electric trolling motor?

Boat is an old 15 ft. closed bow Starcraft tinny with 50 horse. I just want a transom mount that can troll for fish and get me back to shore in case of a motor problem. Can I get by with a 30 lb.?? Boat and motor weigh around 500 lbs.

Just the boat and motor may weigh 500 lbs but add gas,you,gear,battery, maybe another guy.. closer to 1000 lbs.

I wouldnt skimp on a tmotor if your going to use it.
