What size is the shift dog detent ball

1982 Yam/Mariner 60E. I have lost the steel ball at the top of the shift shaft. Can anybody tell me what diameter it is and also how long the spring should be.<br /><br />Have already tried this post in the Merc/Mar section but as this is Jap made I thought I'd give you guys a go..Regards all Keith B...
