I am in the process of rebuilding a mercarb part#: 13899670 date code: 0Y03. It is off a 1987 Mercuiser 5.0.
If have consulted 2 different mercruiser manuals and 1 service bulletin and there are discrepancies among them.
I have 1987 MC shop manual #9 courtesy of Don S. I also found a newer MC shop manual that covers my carb at this link: http://www-alt.mercurymarine.com/mne.../17/17b5r2.pdf I have also found a 1999 service bulliten at: http://www.marineengine.com/discus/m..._08-248939.pdf
The 1987 manual from Don S calls for 170s, the newer manual calls for 165s, and the service bulletin calls for 185s. When I rebuilt it last season I put in 185s but it ran rich.
What size to I need??????????
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
