Got a 9.9 2 stroke, 77 johnson, wondering what would be the best replacement, I use it in a very shallow river, and hit sometimes, and its usually just me and a buddy with a empty boat, 12' Aluminum Sea Nymph flat bottom, what is my best bet? Thanks

This should be about right...

All have certain advantages. At least 2 of these will allow you to raise the motor higher on the transom ~1", which might give that little bit of draft marginal that's needed.
The 4 blade will also plane with less stern squatting, if that's when you're hitting.

If you can provide more specific info - it will add to the likelihood of hitting a winner in one shot.

Find the size of the current prop you are using. It's likely a 3 blade 9 or 10 inch pitch.

Do you know your max WOT RPM's.

Do you want to plane quicker and is that when you usually hit bottom.

How long has your current Aluminum prop held up in use.

That's a start.

There's maybe better help on this in the Prop forum just down the hall.

Need those numbers dia x pitch, should be stamped on the side. Can you borrow a tach to get your WOT number?

Moving it over to the prop section wouldn't hurt either although I don't look at that section.
