what size?

I have a 1980 Carevelle 450 15ft , Im looking for pros and cons on this boat . Also what size outboard should I run on her or minumum size could I get away with . It will live it s life running on Long Point Bay around Pottahawk Island in Lake Erie Ont Canada , all replys for or against are appreciated . thanks ....Doug

It's really hard to tell without seeing the boat but I would say something like a 50. But of course, bigger is usually better, as long as you stay below the maximum rated horsepower. Right now i run a 28 on an 18 foot aluminum center console. It's no speed demon but it does plane.

Thanks AJ168 for your reponse when I bought it with trailer she had a 1965-6 33hp.Johnson super seahorse running but barely Right now iI have a 30 hp Johnso 1987 on her which I got off a buddy for $500.00 which runs great , I havent had her in the water yet just in the laneway in a waterbarrel Hope to drop her in the wet stuff this coming sunday ...Weather permiting of course. will let you know how the 30 works out with just me & the wife in her. .....Doug
