Im guessing this has probably been covered, but besides the costas with the blue tint (everyone know those are best for fishing) I use these arnettes what I really enjoy out on the water, and driving as well to be honest are these... They cover your "peripherall" but not too much, just enough,to block the sunlight from coming in ive had everything from aviators (gold and glass!) To crappy $5 sets... But, for the record, ibe worn these arnettes (since they were arrnetes) since I was 13 or so? Maybe younger, ive had green, clear, black, blue, leopard, green (again) and black (again) this style started as "catfish" then "catfish 2" and now I couldnt even tell you what they are called currently... But I was wondering if anyone else shares my arnette passion, I but nothing else, mine are currently what the call "poly polarized" I can see thru water like a champ, and they dont dostort other "things" to much, window tint is only slightly blockey, and I mean just barely blockey... So what do yall wear? Mine were only $160 ish or so depending... would like to see what else is out there... Thanks! Love you guys!IMAG0378.jpgIMAG0379.jpg

I stop at Bass Pro shops and pick up a few polarized pair for about $15-$20 each. compared to my friends Maui Jims or oakleys, I see the same things under the water that they do, for a lot less money, and I dont feel bad when they get broken

I love my costa del mars.

I've noticed with cheaper polarized glasses, when you look at car windows or other glass type objects...they get distorted.

not with these. kinda freaks me out sometimes.

do you just whip out your cane and feel around when you're in the blinding mid-day sun or something?

I walk out into a sunny day and can barely crack my eyes open sometimes.

Gotta get a pair of those granny straps for around your neck, and don't take them off.

Fair enough Bob, but In my defense i wasnt asking "what should I get" or "will these work" just curious what everybody wears... I understand why alot of people wear the cheapos, but im VERY good about not losing mine, not real sure how, lol, but I think ive broken one pair after 5 years of ownership or so so money well spent, and ive gotten one pair stolen from me... The stolen ones was actualt a funny story...never got em back but the last day I worked a job I picked up my last paycheck and driving onto the highway I saw a co worker wearing them walking into work... But I just kept driving... And probably ten years later me and that guy became good friends... Lol... He swears he doesnt remember that... But I do...

thanks for the replies so far anyways...

I will NEVER EVER own another pair of Costa del Mar's. 250 bucks for plastic lenses. $80 to replace them, twice.

NEVER will I own another pair of Costa del Mars. $250 for plastic lenses made in China. $80 dollars to replace. Get dried salt water on them and wipe them off, scratched. $80.00 to replace and and 45 days turnaround. No lifetime warranty like the competitors.

i agree costa del mars are garbage. the pair i currently own are my 1st pair of "good" glasses and are the worst glasses i have ever owned. the rubber started pealing after 5 days of use. costa did not even respond to calls and emails. but hey, they do have a "lifetime warranty" it will only cost ya $12 for them to tell you they are not covered. if/when i break or lose these i will going back to $20 glasses. 100% uv 400 is really all that maters for protection. i will make 1 suggestion. get some that block the light from coming in the sides and top. i have "blisters" on my eyes that i found were from the sun coming in the side of my glasses.

I wear Berkley polarized 1.0mm thick glasses. You can get them at Walmart for less than 6 bucks in the sporting goods section. Teriffic polarization, thick lenses, and you're only out 6 bucks if you lose them. I had three pair once...one in the car, one in the tackle box and one in the house. Now there's a pair at the bottom of the local pond, a pair MIA and another somewhere off the coast of New Buffalo, MI in the big drink. Bought a new pair and a neck strap which lives on the boat. Total cost for these glasses is 30 bucks. Way ahead in the long run...and I like them more than my old Oakleys which cost twice that and also reside on the bottom of the lake!

If you pay enough, you get careful. I have a $35 pair of Cocoons with ~$500 worth of prescription lenses.

I'm pretty careful with my dollar store ones. A pair in every place I could need them and $5 in my pocket in case I go somewhere new and forget them !!!

same here--as far as the posts from the guys who don't wear any--I tried that once and at speed my eyes watered so much I couldn't see. Also my wife sometimes doesn't pay attention and gets sand on the front deck--and when your doing 45 to 60 mph it hurts when it gets in your eyes:cool:

Cheap ones, I break them to easy while fishing or lose them. I have had expensive glasses but they stay far away from the boat.

I have had almost every design that Oakely makes and have been happy with all of them, have had the Wiley X as well, Ray Ban, etc... it seems that the more expensive they are they get lost or broken faster. i bought a pair of Berkley brand for 12.0 at Wal Mart last Januray, i could not be more happy with these, i can see underwater obstructions as well as good UV production. i have bought 3 more pair, 1 for truck, I for yard work or driving the tractor and I leave one pair in the boat. Berkley has many differt frame designs all for the same price. cheap enough to loose, break or scratch.
I also do a lot of motorcycle riding and they provide great impact protection as well. I would recomend that you give them a try, they are in the outdoor / fishing area.
