I don't think I'm wrong??? I don't know anymore...
It just keeps happening all the time.

I got my CDL revoked after a massive heart attack and other health issues so with my big ol' $1,300/month pension check and all I have is a lot of time for wheelin n dealin in old junk. It's more of a pass-time than anything else.

But I keep running across these idiots (so I think) that figure everything should come with an unconditional unlimited life time guaranty!

example!!!

A couple of years ago I traded a little 14ft tinny with a trailer and late 80's suzuki 9.9 for an old camper trailer (worth $800-$900 at most...)
I told the guy I didn't have a good fuel line to go with it, it's all it needs. The one that was there was attached directly to the tank, no fitting, and sucked in air.

He calls me a few days ago figuring that I should drive to his place, an hour north of here, because his 1960's merc 10hp doesn't run right??? And I owe him this for free because the suzuki was a POS that wouldn't stay running. His friend told him that the fuel line wasn't the problem so he never replaced it and the motor was just a POS so he should get rid of it.

Another one I sold a good running outboard with controls AND installed for much less than most others would charge for just the motor. I was just wanting to clean out the shed so I tossed in a box of miscellaneous parts, some old, some brand new still in the packaging.
He called me to complain that some of the parts were no good and he had to pay several hundred dollars to replace... The freebees!

Re: What the ????

Most everyone wants something for nothing, and with the downturn of the economy, you see even more of it. Unfortunately you have to have a tough outer layer to deal with the public anymore.

Re: What the ????

its really REALLY obvious theres complete idiots alive today. hell ive heard stories from landlords long ago before i bought my home tenents would call him cause thier light bulb burned out. ive always been a DIY. if i can fix it ill just do it or figure it out. ive owned my home for 13 years now. never called not a single repair man. i put all new doors, windows, plumbing, electrical, decks, koi ponds, landscaping, on and on and on. i replace my own brake pads on vehicles, plugs, restored my boats interior. i figure it out. i wont pay someone to do something i can figure out. theres internet. theres detailed instructions on everything out there. i cant remember when i took something to be worked on by someone else. well maybe my alternator. 6 years or so ago. im a busy guy. i fix everything. what does these knuckleheads think you are walmart. i would have laughed on the line said loose my # and hung up.

i knew squat about gas furnaces when i bought my home. but now know what a thermocoupler is and how to put in a new blower motor ect... i just observe and replace. this place saved my boat. it was in need of alot of work last year. floor gone motor running like crap. i did the complete overhaul of interior myself. joined here after a short caused the engine to loose spark. bad cdi box well i fried it. but fixed it replaced a bad coil and a 1/2 dozen other things after joining here. its a 89 force and it runs like a top now. dont feel bad. we all know theres folks out there that can't pop corn. we just have to share the planet with them.

Call Bubba1235, he can help you out with those customer issues.... :D

Some people are clueless and don't understand "AS-IS, No Warranty". AND, if they don't want to have issues and possible repairs, they should buy something new with a "warrranty"...

"As is, where is, No warranty.
All inquiries about this non existent warranty must include a $200 inquiry fee, in advance, per inquiry.
All claims against this non existent warranty must include a $400 filing fee, in advance. "

Re: What the ????

The words "As seen, tried and tested with no expressed warranty whatsoever" are very useful to put on a receipt that you both sign. Make sure you have a copy of it each and dated as well.
Works for me.

Re: What the ????

i use to have a computer business when there was money to be made in repairs and its unbelivable what people expect and the more you try to help the worse it gets. 1 year warranty does not cover christmas day 3 years later. my all time fav has to be a ebay sale......oak barbie furniture my wife designed and made......2 months later
"i want my money back i payed to much".
ok send the piece back and i will refund the price plus postage (not worth the agro and i would just resell it).
"i can not send it back i gave it to my niece for her birthday last month".
did she not like it.
"she loved it but i think i payed to much so i want my money back".
im sry i carnt refund unless you return it.
"im complaining to ebay i want my money back".
my first negative feedback in over a 1000 trades.....lol
