What tilt and trim will fit my 1973 85hp?

Want to get a power tilt and trim for my 1973 85 hp evinrude. What year and model will fit? Thanks

The PT&T units from V4 85HP, 115HP and 135HP E/J motors from 1973-1976 will fit. The 1977 units from 20" 85HP and 115HP will also fit.

I would buy an aftermarket transom mounted trim unit (CMC makes one), they mount on the transom and then you bolt the engine to the unit. The factory J/E trim and tilt units that fit your motor fit on the outside of the motor mount transom brackets. It was not the best idea and was prone to failure, plus they are next to impossible to find. In 1976-77 J/E started mounting all the tnt units between the transom brackets, these will NOT fit your motor.

I have a CMC on my 1970 115 hp evinrude. easy to install.
