WELL I FOUND OUT I HAVE A BAD CYLINDER IN MY MERC 1500. IT HAS 0 COMPRESION. IT ALSO LOOKED AS IF THERE WAS WATER IN IT AT ONE TIME. ANY IDEAS AS TO THE LEAST EXSPENSIVE WAY TO FIX THIS AND PLACES TO FIND PARTS WOULD BE GREAT. ALL THE OTHER CYLINDERS HAVE 125 LBS.

Mrec 1500? If you haved not taken off the head, do so. You may have a cracked head. If it is the piston, you may be able to get by with oversized rings. Just too many other things that you need to find out first.

If it is a straight 6, you will have to tear the whole thing down. The head does not come off. The only way to inspect is to pull crank to get to the bad cylinder. We will need more info on the cylinder, but you CAN get all parts and repair cylinder if needed. :D

ZOORODEO

You also want to make sure you repair the original problem. Most likely, if you had water in the affected cylinder, the exhaust cover gasket was leaking. Make sure you fix that so the problem doesn't reappear.

Good Luck,

Gold Bear ;)
