I was wondering what to expect after a Procraft bass boat with a 95 Mariner 225 EFI sat outside in storage for over two years. The previous owner said he put Stabil in the gas before putting in storage.

I have taken it to a mechanic and waiting to see what he finds.

Thanks for any information.

In a worst case repair the electric fuel pump could be locked up, injector pintles stuck causing flooding or no fuel, float in vst tank hung, mechanical fuel pump diaphrams bad, bad stator. Stabil is good stuff but after 2 years I would drain and flush fuel system. I would have injectors cleaned whether they need it or not. 15 years you can bet internal filters are restrictive and flows are not balanced. Send or call Tony @ Brucatosvs.com. I send my customer injectors in if over 5 years old to have cleaned and balanced. The customer always remark how much better engine runs at idle and top end and better fuel mileage on some.

Faztbullet you hit the nail right on the head. The fuel pump needed to be replaced, not cheap either. And now the dealer says they need to check and clean the fuel injectors.

Thanks for you advice.
