What to look for when inspecting a used Stringer 800 outdrive

Just wondering if anyone has a checklist or some suggestions of what to look for and how to inspect a used Stringer 800 outdrive found on craigslist?

Pressure test it and check the state of the ball gear. Ideally if you use it, you should replace both of them as opposed to using two mismatched worn ones.

If you are able to take it apart, you should check the state of the water pump shaft. It is just a matter of time and use. They wear, then strip out when you get underway.

Speaking of pump shafts, I think i stripped mine out a week ago hit a rock in shallows and that was that. Havent tore it down yet. Whats the usual damage amount too when this happens, upper shaft or lower shaft are stripped too?
