Just wondering what you guys recommend to seal the threads on the quick connect tank fittngs, local shop says they use grease, i also heard to use this stuff permetex makes it comes in a giant container itssome kind of aviation sealer. I know teflon tape is a no no but its what ive been using so far. Been having some fuel isissues and going thru the fuel system. Thanks.

If it's threads you're trying to seal, try some Gasoila Varnish on them. Used it for years on fuel fittings. May be available at a local parts house. It used to be available from OMC in a small bottle.

Ya the threads on the portable tank connector. My dad always uses the standard teflon tape for automotive fuel fittings and always had good luck but I know its not "approved" by most guys, I took a look at walmart today and saw nothing that I would use on fuel fittings. Next stop is the automotive store.

I've used teflon tape in the past without problems. HOWEVER, when I was building an airplane I was warned by an aircraft mechanic NOT to use teflon tape because of the possibility of any small piece of it somehow finding it's way into a carb or fuel injector. Since then I've always used teflon pipe joint compound and it's been fine. Whatever you get make sure that it says on the label that it's ok for fuel.

Teflon tape is impervious to fuels so it's not a compatibility problem, it's an procedural issue. On an airplane......yes, but I'm not going out to buy a "special" fuel sealer for use on boat or a lawn mower.:)

I picked up some permatex thread sealing compound at advance auto, had an issue out on the water today motor kept on bogging down then finally quit noticed fuel filter was empty and primer bulb was collapsed so i checked the vent, open, take cap off, no vacuum, i switch tanks and she ran fine. When i got home i checked the tank and it seems to flow fine gona check it out more tommorow, but at leaslt she didnt surge at all so im pretty sure its fixed, just not sure whats going on with the tank.
