Hi Guys,
I just acquired a 1972 Merc Model 200 20HP Motor in beautiful condition except for its ignition wiring, which is literally falling apart to the touch. The wires in question are the primary coil wires from the points, the kill switch etc. etc. They appear to be 14 gauge, thin strand wire. Can someone recommend the right type of wire for me to use, and where to get it? I will solder on all new Terminal lugs, no problem there, but I want to use the correct type of wire, ie High temp, High Voltage, Oil resistant, etc. This motor has the Type II Phase maker thunderbolt Capacitor Discharge ignition, and shoots a 1000 volt charge across the primary of the coils.
Thank You all in advance
