what type or mil vinyl for stripe?

Hey guys-- I'm trying to update the look of my boat. I'm repalcing the bimini and repalcing the vinyl "boot" stripe. I think that is what the stripe on hull is called. Looking online I can order the vinyl and apply myself. Any ideas on mil or brand? I don;t think I'm taking on too much for me if I can get the "right" stuff. Oh- I called a graphics shop and they quoted me $250 for my 24 ft boat. Am I being cheap or frugle?

If your looking for thin stripes 1/16" to 1" you can to it yourself. Getting it straight is the hard part. If your going to do something more custom you could buy a kit online and still do it yourself just take your time.
If you want something totally custom a good vinyl shop is worth the money.

If you are afraid to do it yourself then I would pay to have it done and have the piece of mind and warranty. If you want to try and tackle it yourself you can buy all different kinds of pinstipe in many different colors and sizes from Great Lakes Skipper. They sell 150 foot rolls for around 30 bucks or less and its all marine pinstripe.

I picked the boat up from the sign shop today. we totally blew the budget but got a TON done. Stripes, shadows and lettering to match the original Wellcraft. I'm really glad I went pro rather doing it myself. The money spent makes the boat look 10 years newer. Now I'll search the site about the bottom paint I removed. Used stripper, sanded and now what.......
