What would you guys do?

I just replaced my lower unit w/ a used one in good condition. It is a '85 115. I just got it put back together made sure water was pumping fine. Started wiping all of the grease off and noticed my intake screens are broken out. The water pump housing was in good condition. So would you drop it and replace them, or wait until end of season?

Fix it NOW or you could pay dearly later with the least being a full pump replacement !!

Without the screens, you'll end up sucking in debris and clogging your plumbing....and frying your motor.

That is what I thought as well. I can use the ones from my old g/c. I guess this how you learn, by making mistakes.

Try the top secret files at the top of this forum and look for salvage yards.
