I have my grandfather's old evinrude (fleetwin?)outboard h.p. judging on size between 5 and 15.
Serial # 4443-44507 covered under patents re18921, 2096457, 1785089, 211245,
and 1932785.

i can be reached at
ericdechant@hotmail.com
This motor ran great after i redid the ignition on the 16:1 gas/oil i was feeding it until the float gave out. I've been looking for repair manuals but can't find one for evinrudes older than fifty years. any help on age, horsepower, maintenence, and carbuerator repair (i've
already got it apart and cleaned and I have a new float) would be greatly
appreciated. thanks and have a great season

Hi eric
Your motor is a 1951-52 7.5hp evinrude. I would clasify it as an antique it certianly is a clasic. Most of the procedures for maint. and repairs are the same as for later models. So a manual for a 1956 should work ok. You my have to guess a little here and there. If you need more help all you have to do is ask.

Hi Eric,
Alcan's manual recomendation will help with the powerhead, but the carb & lower unit are quite different on your earlier model. Manuals for various motors turn up on eBay all the time. Ken Cook Co. has manuals for most older OMCs, too. They're site is something like kencookco.com or some variation on that...
- Scott
