What year & doesn't run well!

I've received a 85 HP Johnson powered bassboat in a trade.....I would like to know the year of the motor<br />Model# 85ETLR780 <br />serial #J4965035<br /><br />I've been able to get it to start, but only on 2 cylinders. Taken the carbs apart & cleaned (no help) Don't think one power packs is firing?<br />What do I need to check? Should I swap the powerpacks to see if the problem switches sides?<br />Any help is appreciated.......Tom

1978.<br />Have you checked for spark at the plugs? Yes, switch the powerpacks to test.
