What year engine?

I am checking to verify the year on my engine.<br />Johnson 90hp Model #J90TLCTE

Looks like a 1983 model

I thought it was an 83 but according to the Clymer manual, the last two letters are suppose to identify the year. Any idea what the extra lettering mean?

That is the model run or suffix used by johnson/evinrude. Something they used to identify a group of motors I guess. Ignore it.<br />Yours is a Johnson,90hp, trim&tilt with a 20" shaft.1983 model
