what year is it and why wont it run

hi<br />I have an older sea king 45 hp motor. I was to;d it was early 70's but I am not sure, it's serial # is 10137. <br />Also it wont start. The battery is good and the starter works fine and it appears to be getting gas. Can anybody help me?<br /><br />Thanks<br />Nate

Hi Nate<br />A motor needs three things to run. Compression,ignition and fuel. You seeem to think you have fuel. What about the other two? If you can post the model# of this honey we might be able to be more specific with help and info. If in fact you motor is a 70"s model the model# should begin with VWB. Looking in my book I see that the 45hp model was only available from 1964-68. VWB will still begin the model#
