I suspect you have a 1997 3cyl 90hp Mariner

That '6' is likely a 'G'

The numbers are simply a sequential manufacturing serial number, and on thier own do not have individual meanings.

Thanks for the reply. I double checked and there is no G, it is clearly a 6 and it is a 6 cyl not 3. I think it's older than 1997 even though it's in very clean condition.
