Greetings from NY all:<br /> Hope someone can help me here, I bought our first boat this past summer and am trying to figure out what year it is. It is a Sea Sprite. Built by the Sea Sprite Boat Co., Crescent City Illinois.<br /><br /> The serial Number is 670690 and the model number is 1571. If I had to guess I'd say it is either a 1967 or a 1971 (based on these numbers). As it is 15ft and the model number is "1571" I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it may be a 71 (that's my final answer). Any input is appreciated.<br /><br />Also, it's powered by a 40 HP Johnson "Electromatic" (2 stroke, RKL 27A). The seller even provided me the service manual. I grew up with boats but my dad always had the engines serviced and I never really learned much about winterizing, upkeep etc. I'm told a 2 stroke is easy to care for and maintain, I hope so. The service manual is great for mechanics but I'm in need of some care info for the non-technical. If anyone could direct me to a good resource I'd appreciate it.
