I bought a boat last year and the previous owner could not tell me the year of the engine. The numbers I found on the engine are 37-13020 and
P/N 332-7778a1. This is a Mercury 60hp, 3 cyl,
2 cycle. I believe it is around 1971 but not sure.
If someone could be of assistance I would appreciate the help.

Welcome to iboats.

I'm afraid you provided us with some part numbers. The serial number should be on a tag on the swivel bracket where the motor tilts and turns. There may also be a nickle-sized welch plug with the serial number on the powerhead itself. They made those motors for a few years, but you're at least in the ballpark. It's probably a few years newer than that.

thank you for your response Ben Lucky. I took a look around the #2 cyl and found this number -
1025-8363. I also found a patten # 3773010. If you
could help I would appreciate it.
