look for round tag on top of motor toward rear and give that number to a boat dealer and they should be able to tell you

model number should be stamped on the top of the motor. on the powerhead somewhere.
ex: mine is E60ELCNM - stamped right on top

look for something like that and we can help

Re: What year is my evinrude?

thank you for the info I will try to get that tag info and some pictures but ,
I am not sure how to put pictures into the computer yet.
also I read on the web that you should be able to get at least the year of
the outboard motor from the power pack.
It does not say Hp on it just symbol deluxe
and looks like a 4 Hp on the Evinrude web site

thanks again

I've never heard that, but it can't be right. The powerpack is not unique to each year, rather, it is common for several models over several years.

Look for the plug on the side of the engine or better, yet, the model number on the side of the transom bracket.
