What year is my Merc 400 M ?

I need to know for various reasons the year of this engine that I just picked up :

Mercury 45 HP Four
Merc 400 M Kiekhaefer
serial # 1386733

The boat is a Thunder Craft V144, does anyone know the year ?

If anyone can send me any info on this engine I would greatly appreciate it !
