I'm new to this forum looming for some answers guys any help would be a great start. I picked up a 50 hp mercury I believe it is mid 70s have a serial that is 4074178 I have double checked it to make sure I have read the numbers correctly and I cannot seam to find the year of this engine. It's has a blue stripe in the middle of it on the front says 500 on the shaft says 50hp and also says thunderbolt ignition. Any help identifying this would be great.
