what year is my merc

I have a 7.5 hp twin cylinder thunderbolt 2 stroke, just wondering what year it? I have a serial number 019434, can anyone help with info on this motor

Thanks for the quick reply mate, I can't find any ID plate, just on the transom mount which has serial number 019434, however there is an indentation before the 0 which is hard to make out, it could be a 0 or a 6, hope that helps

I have found some more numbers. On the power head there is a number 837-5234.
on the other side of head is 46172 and on the carby or feul pump is 1364 4929

If that indentation is a 6, this page would indicate it's a 1980-1985 Mercury 75:

Can you take a picture? Or show us a picture of a similar one on the internet? The shape and detailing of this motor changed several times throughout its history, and just by looking at a picture we would at least be able to provide a definitive range of years.

Thanks for the info Dougan, i think it is a 6, at the moment it's at the mechanic getting serviced, so as soon as i get it back I will send some photo's.
