what year is my motor, tell tale?

ok i know im not supposed to list more than one question, but here it goes.
i bought a bayliner, 14 footer, and it has a 50 force. i think it is a 88, but the numbers
model 507x6a serial 1566.

the other question, is there a tell tale? i read the post on how to install one, but the guy i bought the boat from said it flows out the exhaust??

your motor is a 1986 model.

Yes the cooling water exits with the exhaust.
There is no factory tell tale.
That is why we have the thread telling how to install one of your own.

thank you, so the pee stream, does it exit out the rectanglular outlet? or does it exit down low near the prop?

Hole on the back of the midsection is an exhaust relief hole, some water will come out there, the rest will come out above the prop with the rest of the exhaust.

If you install a traditional telltale, you can position it to spray out to the side so it can easily be seen and monitored while in use.

thank you very much. i guess the thermostat was stuck. i removed the thermostat, cleaned it, stuck it back in and ............ yes houston we have a pee stream!!!
good running motor. i am really surprised. idles nice, and pulls well.
