i just bought a 1962 astrocraft 17 ft boat and the 40 hp johonson motor and a 1990 easy load trail for 250.00 does any one the correct gas/oil mixing ratio for it i have a chart but i want the correct numbers so i dont mess up the motor

anything before 1964 is 24:1<br /><br />There were some rated at100:1 but they changed it to 24:1 because of problems with the mix so mix 24:1 and should be ok<br />by the way that was a heck of a deal

Yep. 24:1.<br /><br />Bubbakat is a little confused about the temporary 100:1 recommendation. It only applied to a few late 80s engines and was revised to 50:1.<br /><br />All engines made before 1965 are specified at 24:1.<br /><br />Good luck.

i was not sure i mixed up a little in a 3 gallon tank but i ran out tuning the motor i mix it 16:1 little to much oil alot of smoke but i thought it would not hurt because the guy i got it from has not run it sence 91/92

i have another motor i want to know a little info about year and any thing any one can tell me evinrude 50hp model #50173S/s#E07338 eletric shift and it is stuck in gear ?help
