I'm new to this forum and the outboard world. I just acquired a 10hp Johnson Seahorse and am trying to get it running again. The Model # is QD20 and Serial # 1876933. The guy I bought it from said it was a 1959 model. Also, was wondering if anyone knows the fuel:eek:il mixture ratio, magneto points set gap, and spark plug type and set gap. Also wondering if this motor originally needed a pressurized tank. The seller gave me a fuel line with a primer bulb in it, so I guess it doesn't take a pressure tank, unless it's been converted. Thanks for your help.

Howdy, thull.

Welcome to iboats. :)

A QD-20 is a 1959 model.

Fuel mix is 24:1, 87 octane unleaded and a TC-W3 rated outboard oil.

Points are set at .020".

Use Champion J4C or J6C plugs, gapped at .030". J4C for fast operation, J6C for low speed and trolling.

By 1959 OMC had abandoned pressure tanks for fuel pumps.

Great little engine. Good luck. :)
