what year is my super seahorse 40?

just aquired an old engine which turns nicely and looks to have had mainly freshwater use. am told it runs but hasn't done for two years (or maybe more) am intending to get it running but will be needing to aquire a manual. I am in the uk and wonder if anyone can tell me if there are any parts suppliers over here. Any information greatly appreciated. Model number is rds 422. Serial no is 306996

Welcome John!!<br /><br />In your Model No....are you sure that's a RDS-422 or it it 22?<br /><br />RDS 22 is a Johnson 40hp made in 1960.<br /><br />Check the model number again and let us know....thanks!

thankyou obj, you were absolutely right. could you give me some idea on how i might be able to obtain parts for this engine in the uk?
