What year is this boat?

I assume its a Springbok boat as per the faded tanlines from once removed Springbok logo. The steering wheel also says Springbok on its horn. AND it looks identical to another 1978 Springbok boat I almost bought except the HIN tag said Springbok.

From what I gather, Princecraft used to make springbok boats. Alum Goods turned into Mirrocraft. So do I actually have a mirrocraft?

Biggest confusion is what YEAR?

I am trying to decypher the HIN tag... which is in the engine well...no other tags found in boat.

At first, I was going to say 1996, but then I noticed it was a Canadian HID, and then I saw the pics. Umm.... your guess works for me. :D

I just noticed you can almost make out the old registration numbers. Wouldn't the Province (I think that's what you guys call 'em) have a record of it?

Looks like your kids couldn't careless what year it is, they just love it! Go have fun with the kids on it!

Re: What year is this boat?

Kids cant stay out of it....kinda why we bought it and our canoe is obviously way to dangerous for a family of 4.

Just have to finish sealing up the old motor bolt holes and a few tlc items to deal with...then it will hit the H2O a few times this summer.....may have to replace the wood in transom in a few years though.

yea its definately not a 1996....even a 82 would be closer but cant find any information on HIN that look like these numbers anywhere on google.

I would guess 70's. Square walk-thru windows were not in fashion until the very late 60's. Most were rounded one piece up to then. Also it was mid 60's I think that the lap strake siding came in. Up to that most were smooth sided. Boat are pretty difficult to determine from outside pics. There were so many maunfacturers and copies that alot look alike. Sometimes the inside set-up is easier to determine the maker as most are somewhat different in seat placment or storage.

Sorry to say but with a Canadian ID # you are just about on your own :(

Is it necessary to know the exact year? Can it be accomplished from the old registration number's?

Re: What year is this boat?

I will go with the 70ish as I went and looked at a near identical boat which was also a Springbok with the original decals and horn cap and that reference boat had the same hull tag.

The square windshield replaced the original curved windshield. Also there are aftermarket swivel post seats installed when the previous owner replaced the hull foam and floor.

Was just curious about the age. Couldnt find any hull tags that looked like this on the interweb.
