What year is this Evinrude 25? What would be a fair price?

Can you tell me what year my Evinrude 25 was built?
Model: 257029 Serial: E0003874 Is this a 1978 model?

And what would be a reasonable price for this motor? It's a manual start, 18" shaft, with a SE Sport 30 hydrafoil. I had the water pump rebuilt last year. It starts pretty easy and is very reliable.

But it's pretty scruffy (lots of scratches, peeling decals, etc.)

How would you price it?

Looks like that's a '77. Hard to say what it's value is. Lot's of variables there. I paid $500 for '72 25 horse a few years ago but I was able to look it over and test it first and I needed a 25 horse motor.

Thanks oregonducker. I'll ask $475 for it and see if anyone near Fort Lauderdale is interested.

btw, I see on the diagram at--
http://www.iboats.com/ref/shaft_length.html

--that a 15" motor shaft is "short" and a 20" shaft is "long". If I measured this correctly, it has an 18" shaft. What do I call that length? "medium shaft" ??

Round down (within reason), so it's a short shaft. If it's a salt-water engine, the value would be less. But no harm in asking.
