What year is this Evinrude Fastwin?

My aunt has had this old motor sitting on her deck for around 20 years. It is sized up which I expected it would be. I think it is a 1956 fastwin. The only thing that is confusing me is the glass bowl that goes to the carb is on the side of the motor instead of on the carb. Has anyone seen one like this?

Looks like a 56.----But the model # tag is clearly visible on port transom bracket.--Post the numbers.----That separate glass bowl is fairly common as well.----Or an easy retro fit.

Is the glass bowl on the side a stock thing or it and aftermarket fit?

That glass bowl is shown standard on 1961 model 18 HP.-----And I know it is used on many other models too.-----The powerhead on that 56 may have been replaced / modified.----The possibilities are endless.

Where do you see that a 15020 is a 7 1/2 HP ??----From the picture in post #1 it is clear that this is NOT a 7 1/2 HP motor.-----Just take a close look at that listing for a 1957 model 7 1/2 and you would clearly identify it as the 18 HP motor.-----Just another example of mistakes on that website.

Sure----But look at the gearcase parts !!!-----That is the 18 HP gearcase and 110% sure that is not a 7 1/2 HP gearcase.----A definite BLUNDER on that website !

Thank you for the suggestion, but I agree that it is a 18 hp. I already have the head off and have been soaking it in half transmission fluid and half acetoin. I am about to receive from my grandpa a book about Evinrude and johnsons from 1956 to I think the late 80's.
