got a mariner 80hp #5893736 how good are these motors and what is a common problem with them? pros and cons?

4 cyl 1981 model, made in the U.S.

It is essentially a merc, good rock solid 4 banger. It's only downfall is it's age. Maintainance history will determine reliability, everything craps out eventually.
