what year is this outboard

I picked up a 9.9 Nissan outboard at a yard sale for 50 bucks running . The problem is i have no idea what the year is the model number is ns 9.9 bc and the serial number is 355a 62509 ny body have a way to age this motor ? thanks

Year of manufacture is not important, but precise model/serial is. If you're curious about year, call Tohatsu America at 214-420-6440 and they may be able to tell you. These were made in the late 80's to early 90's. Be advised that a lot of carb parts for the 9.9B are becoming scarce, depending on which carb you have, so treat the fuel system well.
