Really need model number to determine year. Look for a small disk on the powerhead for numbers. Looks like a freeze plug. Only person I know of on this board who can narrow down the year by serial number is Member "John from Illinois". If you can't find any other numbers, post directly to him.
A quick search for serial numbers at iboats finds:

J3553120 1972
j3557230 1972
J3583013 1972

Your engine here.

j3624963 1972
J3666730 1972
J3672982 1972

This is by no means definitive, but I think it's very telling.

Hope this helps!

rickdb1boat - I think John only does late model numbers. I could be wrong though. It's only based on what I've seen.
No, no - I think it is a '73, if you have a '73 that's that close in the range. There's a suspicous gap between 358**** and 362****. Makes me doubt it's a '72.
Just for fun, are you +32 or -32?
im posotive 32, my last two numbers are 85... sorry thats 31 isnt it.. that means your motor came off the assembly line 31 motors before mine, if you sell, please.. do tell me
