What year Merc 40

I would like to find out the year (and pertinent info) on a Merc 40 "Classic" motor. S/N 0C244164. I know it has oil injection. I've tried to find it on my own, but can't. Is it 2 or 3 Cylinder? What can you tell me about the Merc oil injection. Are they problematic? Any info would be appreciated. Thanx!

JB is right...you'll get much more assistance if you post this on Engines/Motors forum. Trent, ODDD1, Bear, (to name a few) are usually super-quick to help I.D. outboard year, model etc...<br /><br />See you there...<br /><br />Walt
