What year motor & proper fuel mixture

hmnn.... I thought merc recomended 40:1 for the hundred ser of engines IE 100 200 300 400 500 ect ect? were'nt they prone to siezing?

I've had several of the merc 20 HP of your vintage,,runs great with 50:1. Kinda a pain to work on but will run well forever. <br />Note; ignition system has a grounded kill switch, must be CLOSED(grounded) to run. This is bassackwards from all the rest of the world. Have fun!
