hi guys, can anyone tell me what year and spec this johnson 50 is please? 50ESL71S also is it known as a good motor as in reliable or should i avoid? many thanks, taz.

In 1971 it would have had the electric shift lower unit - therefore it wouldn't be my first choice for powering any of my boats... or even my second. They worked fine until you get the slightest bit of water in them, then you're in for a big repair bill IF you can find someone to work on it...<br />- Scott
