What Year

I have 2 force out boards one has a 125 tilt trim so i cant find out year of engine the only #s i have is the one on the block which is M599569.
The other outboard i found the model # but the serial # dont match the #s are
Model# 856a9a
Serial# 1090
block#M611108
If there is any other way to find out years please let me Know. Thank You

According to "maxrules.com", the model and serial numbers match.

1989 model #856A9A starts with S/N 1001 and goes thru 1442.

The block number is just a part casting number.

The 2nd motor is a 1989.
The first motor is only identifiable by the model number, which you don't have.

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying the original transom bracket has been replaced?

Yes the bracket was replaced with one from a force 125, now i dont have any way to find out what year it is , it does not look the same as the 1989 85 I have. The exhaust cover has fins and the 1989 one does not,it is flat, is there any way to find out what year it is besides the tag on the trim bracket.
Thanks for helping, I want to rebuild the engine but i cant find what year it is.
