Buddy just dropped off his 9.8 merc ob for some repairs,, Im wonderin what yr pls the serial number is, A704596.... thks , Leo.

I'd suggest that is one of the last 9.8hp motors off the assembly line in 1985. The following year they labelled them 9.9hp motors, and started with Serial No. A708906.
