i need the gimbal bearing replaced on a 4.3l merc alpha one, i also would like the bellows replaced at this time what would this cost me at marine shop to get this done
I did mine myself after getting a quote of $900.00 from a place in Destin, FL. It isn't as hard as it seems and only took a few hours. I would say you are looking at $350.00 - $500.00. That's at $90.00 an hour plus parts.......
Thats a very high quote, doesn't sound right, In the business Ive noticed so places quote high because they don't have the time or don't want to do it. It takes a couple special tools to replace that bearing. Be careful.
