Whats it worth(1994 four winns horizon 18)

A friend is looking at this boat. It has a '94 150hp johnson outboard with just over 400 hours on it. He has not seen the boat, but it is very clean in the pics he has. the pics look good. Very clean interior, shinny outboard and gelcoat, nice trailer. Owner says no soft spots, always garaged and winterized every year. the owner says and I quote, "We have taken meticulous care of the boat and I think if you see it in person you will be very pleased". You know, the same old story.

the owner is asking $5900. He asked me what I thought about the price, and I really don't know. What do you all think. Is this a good price or what should he shoot for?

It is about $1500 more than what I would have paid for the same size boat in my area. Though depending on the area it could be more. A boat in good condition can go for more to the right person if time is more important than money.

Some friends of ours just sold the same boat and setup a few weeks ago for 6000. It was very nice and well cared for, but I didn't want an outboard.
