I've been toying with the idea of selling my 1963 SportCraft (Rainmaker). I bought this boat about 15 years ago and gave her a full (2 years) resotation/refit. Since then, I've had it in the water maybe five or six times. It took 2nd place at the St. Louis boat show in 1996. I'm working on another boat now and just don't have the time to take her out as much as I would like. I have an idea of what I would want for the boat, but thought I'd see what some of you folks thought.
I've talked with a few people here in southern Missouri, and they seemed to think it wouldn't bring much...

PS...JB, I'm not trying to sell my boat, just get an idea of what it may be worth..

You can't give those things away anymore. I'll give you a hundred for the trailer and figure out what to do with the boat and motor later. ;)

The right person would pay plenty for a boat like that. Hit plenty of boating events including boat parades and rendevous, especially wooden boat ones. Advertise an eBay selling date (including details on the back of pictures to hand out). I hate giving estimates on restored woodies because the market for them is small, but generally affluent. Anywhere from 2 grand to 20 grand. I mean it's not like they grow on trees. Oh wait, that's wood. Never mind. ;)

we had one just like it, only the hull was painted white, 60hp gale. fantastic handling boat, fast, liked rough water. 100% all round boat. does yours have a sleep space under the bow? a board slipped out from under the seat cushions and close the knee space, and you put the back cushions on it for a nap. camp out in it, at juniper springs, fl, when i was 13, the worst night i ever had. SKEETERS. the hull was a copy of the Borum line of boats.

I Gotta Agree with everyone,........

In the Right Market,........ It's got Big Value......

On the Open Market,....... It's a couple hundred dollar boat.......

In August, there's a Big Show up in Clayton, at the Antique Boat Museum,.........
Something like That would bring the Premium Dollars..........

Take it to a Yacht Club, park it out front with for sale sign and see what offers you get. :D

But seriously, that is a beautiful boat. I think it would sell in the 5000 to 7000 range without too much trouble early in the boating season.

This 1976 wooden boat is selling for $3500...

This 17' 1967 Thompson is priced at $4500...

This 14' 1952 Lake Side Muskoka Sunny Side SOLD for $7,800

I didn't list Cris Craft because they are in a class all to themselves.

Check out this site for more boats like you have that are for sale...

Antique Boat Sales

Oh, and don't forget this one is currently budget priced at only $50,000! I sure love looking at your boat, Mark. I have a picture of that saved on my 'puter. When my boy is a little older we're going to restore a boat using yours as the model.

Beautiful SportCraft Kevin! Nice job. I watch boats for sale on eBay to find out selling prices, and the advice already given is excellent. As you already know, you are selling at the perfect time of year, so you should do well.

Rubberfrog,

Thanks for your comments. I plan on keeping this boat, I see no reason to sell. Even if I get a bigger boat, these little runabouts are the ones that you can run off to the lake or river at the drop of a hat and tow with smaller vehicles. I can launch that by myself in 5 minutes. I don't really know what my boat would bring on the market, but it ain't for sale.

Thanks all, for the comments and suggestions. It looks like I will have to do some marketing to find the right buyer. Here in southern Missouri, anyone looking for a boat wants something with "Skeeter" or "Bassmaster" written down the side of it. Oh, and Mark42, all I can say is bummer. I had the check all written out....
